Regulatory consultancy Arcus Compliance has published England’s first ‘Assured Advice’ for nicotine pouch packing.
Developed in close partnership with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Trading Standards, it provides a “definitive framework” for businesses seeking clarity on the legal packaging requirements for nicotine pouches in England.
The advice offers “detailed interpretation of key regulations” and serves not only as a “critical compliance resource” for manufacturers and distributors, but also as a ”trusted reference” for Trading Standards officers across England, said Arcus.
“This marks yet another industry first for Arcus Compliance. I want to commend John Donoghue for his diligent work and thank Jennifer Harker for her excellent support,” said Robert Sidebottom, managing director at Arcus Compliance.
“With the growing scrutiny on nicotine pouch products in the UK, this assured advice will play a vital role in raising product standards, enhancing consumer safety, and supporting fair enforcement practices nationwide.”
Mark Oliver, business hub manager at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Trading Standards, commented: “We are pleased to support Arcus Compliance in the development of this assured advice, which provides much-needed clarity for businesses operating in the growing nicotine pouch market.
“This collaboration reflects the core purpose of the Primary Authority scheme — to enable consistent, expert-led guidance that supports both regulatory compliance and consumer safety.”
